In honor of Blythe’s 10th birthday (they grow up so fast!) A special event is being held in Junie Moon Daikanyama – Blythe Summit! Handmade custom Blythe dolls and outfits will be available in the store from May 31-June 19. Â Team Sibley was happy to participate – we customized a Nostalgic Pop, Maraballe Melody, and Little Lily Brown Middie. Christina made 10x of 3 different Jam Fancy outfit sets.

I was extra-excited to get my hands on Middie – I was intrigued by the few photos I’d seen popping up on Flickr, and I couldn’t wait to see what was inside. I’m happy to say that after working with her and learning how to fine-tune her unique glance, that I became hooked and miss her very much! Â It will be wonderful when eyechips and custom parts are available for Middies, they are really fun little ladies.

Head on over to TeamSibley.com to see all three girls.

Check out Junie Moon’s news page for more photos of the goods and some amazing custom Blythes and Middies!

We’re fortunate enough to have a Middie Blythe visitor in the house! For those of you that have not met Middie, she is a new type of very tiny Blythe (she stands shoulder-height to Neo Blythe). Middie’s look is very Blythe, but her eye mechanics are completely different – Middie can look side-to-side (a lot like a pullip), but cannot blink. She also has a jointed neck which allows her more head poses than Neo Blythe.

We’ll have a full tutorial up soon on how to open her up to customize, but for now, enjoy these shots of my first Middie-opening!

Since RBL Blythes give us the opportunity to swap scalps with no cutting, sawing, or stress, we’re seeing more people play “musical scalps” with their Blythes! I had lots of fun trading my Miss Sally Rice’s scalp with my other RBL girls, and couldn’t resist swapping a few others just for fun. Ebony and Darling Diva got the swap, and I love DD with dark hair so much that I might have to keep my eye out for a spare Ebony scalp!

Happy Halloween to you and your Blythes! Halloween is quickly approaching, and if you’re like us, you’re probably way behind on sewing those elaborate Blythe costumes you started planning way back in July. Don’t worry! Print and cut out these easy masks and turn all of your Blythes into spooks in a pinch. It will be our little secret!

Download the Printable .PDF Here! (zip/230K)

Tips for making your Masks and sacks:

Print the file with no scaling (100%) on regular printer paper.

Cut off the treat sack portion of the sheet.

glue or spray-mount a sheet of cardstock or construction paper to the back of the masks for strength. cut out and add string or elastic.

for the sack: fold on the lines, starting at number [1] . Fold all the lines marked [2], then paste the tab to attach the side of the bag to the front. Bring the lines marked [2] together, creating a valley fold at [3].

fold the bottom of the bag the same way you would wrap a birthday present, hold it shut with glue or tape.

tape some black cord or string inside the top edge for a handle.

We participated in the Variety Fair exhibition and shop again this year, Christina made two Jam Fancy outfit sets and Paul and I worked on the doll to model one of the outfits. We were sent a lovely butter-yellow haired girl to work on (I wonder how many of these they have at the factory… the hair is gorgeous!).

Christina finished the outfits before we got started on the makeup. She used the Blythealizer to come up with a makeup combo that worked with the outfit, She came with normal skintone and primadolly-esque makeup. We decided that she should have fairer skin, so my Primadolly Aubrey got the swap. They are both happier in their new skin as my Aubrey always looked a little ill to me. Anyway, this time we tried an all-airbrush makeup including shaded lips. It was our first try and we are happy with the results, and will continue to refine the technique. The finished girl has pink lips with red shading on the bottom. We created our own mask for the shape and sprayed it in two stages.

Three of her eyechips have been airbrushed for depth. This technique is super easy and gives the eyes so much pop! Of course, she has three sets of P-chips.

With Paul airbrushing the lips, you may be wondering what the heck I did… This time, I did the eyeshadow! We kept it simple, one color, a teal green to match her dress. I sealed the lids with high gloss to prevent scratching and give her a dewy look.

We hope you like her! She’ll be available for sale at Variety Fair. More pictures are on puchi-flickr. You can check out both the finished outfits in Christina’s flickr
