An official looking promo pic for Gentle River is featured in volume 13 of Dolly Dolly. We can’t say if it’s legit or not, as we haven’t seen the final sketches from CWC, but most of the details on this cartoon are pretty accurate! A couple minor things like the haircolor and makeup colors are a smidge off, but it could be the quality of the scan. I hope CWC posts an official sketch on blythedoll.com soon!
So you can already see some of the changes that had to be made for the production doll – most notably her cool new shoes and the elimination of her sausage curls. We’ll tell you more in part II of “the making of gentle river” …

i can’t wait to see the promo pics!
I really hope thats just a partial artistic intepretation of her hair and they dont’ get rid of her gorgeous curls!
You know I didnt even think it might not be Kosher. I imagine it is though, they are so hand in hand with Dollydolly. *eeeeeppppp!*
I love your website, it’s very informative! I’ve just received my first Blythe doll and want to customize her.Do you have any tips in how to sculpt her lips and waht do I use to dye her hair? Thanks a bunch!!
monica, before diving into such complicated customizations as lip carving and hair dying, why not take some time to get to know your new little muse. Take some pictures, dress her up, let her personality come out!
I personally don’t have any published tips on lip carving because I don’t typically do any sculptural modifications to my blythes. I think her lips are the second most important feature (the first of course being those big eyes!) that makes her “blythe,” but that’s just personal opinion.
search the thisisblythe.com forums for “rit dye” and you will probably find many hair coloring tips.
good luck with your new girl!
